And now for something completely different ... here's some of the hardy fuschia which occupies way too much of the north beds. I've just dug a couple of gallons of it out, and replaced it with .. well, more fuschia, since I found some of the silvery pink kind I used to have and lost a few years ago :-)
I put this in this year, and surrounded it with dark blue and white BeardTongue. I hope it looks the way I planned it, or I'll have to move something! lol!

And here below on the right is another lily I put in this year, an Oriental
called Siberia .. it smells wonderful at 20 paces, and the bees get drunk on it.
Here's something different - we had a 24 hour windstorm early in August, and when I went out to check on things, I found this butterfly. He had a death grip on the knotweed, which the wind was punishing with considerable enthusiasm. I went and got the camera, and took a few pix in spite of the poor light and the continuous thrashing of the plant because I didn't know how long he could stay with it. In the morning the wind was still tossing the knotweed around, but he was still hanging in, and with better light I got this shot ..
That's all for now folks, but there'll be more later for sure!
