Knight
Softly I waltz with you in clouds
too whispery to touch
I pause and breath the fragrance
of your skin
I gaze in wonder and surprise
as you turn your face and smile
Then suddenly bright tears are falling
In the mist
I fade away and lose my touch
of warm fingertips
Still lips are mute and words drop
in unknown silence
My skeptic mind is stone deaf
to your tender voice
Patiently you reach through
darkened feeling
Willing then to pierce
fantastic pain
I hide behind my granite
Fortress of mistrust
You climb rough, mortared walls
to rescue me
But I am bound in fancied ropes
of fear and rejection
And I am wounded with
foul and rude expressions
You cleanse my wounds with
tenderness and affection
You loose my bonds with
caring and desire
You are the cherisher and keeper
of my love and trust
~My knight in shining armor
