I Felt Your Warmth

Before you went away
I saw you
We spoke of poets and songs
and life, and God
I felt your warmth and
Mourned your sadness

Then I forgot you
while I nourished myself
But you said that I
was not to be a stranger
When I searched for you
It was much too late to find you

I just wanted to say good bye
before we finally parted
I wanted to know
if you were really happy
I missed your laugh
and the taste of your love

I slept and sweetly dreamed
you smiled at me
We talked of poets and songs,
and life, and God
I felt your warmth and
basked in your gladness
